UNcorrect* creative of the week: Screaming Lord Sutch. David Edward Sutch, better known by his stage name Screaming Lord Such, was an English singer and politician. He is the founder of the Monster Raving Loony Party and holds the record for participating in the most parliamentary elections. As a singer, Lord Sutch worked with musicians like Keith Moon, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. He was known for having stage shows with a horror theme and is therefore considered one of the forerunners of shock rock. The Monster Raving Loony Party is a satirical party known for their absurd manifestos filled with proposals that are impossible to implement. Just a few of their proposals: introducing a 99p coin, implementing outdoor air conditioning to fight climate change and a high-speed railway line to the Falkland Islands. Although some policies, like introducing passports for dogs, were later adopted by more mainstream parties and became law. In 1991 he published an autobiography called Life as Sutch: The Official Autobiography of a Raving Loony. Lord Sutch appeared in the British comedy The New Statesman and starred in TV commercials for Heineken and Coco Pops. Sutch had a history of depression and died by suicide in 1999, right after the death of his mother. Since then Alan Hope and his pet cat Catmando, jointly took over the role as a leaders of the party. * UNcorrect is a homage to creatives who are fearless, controversial, breaking rules and rejecting the status quo. Read about them before they get forgotten or canceled.
