🚀 Do you work in public health and want to strengthen your ability to detect, assess, and respond to health threats? Join the new global learning opportunity "Foundations of Public Health Intelligence"   The new online course "Foundations of Public Health Intelligence: Lead, Implement, and Practice" is now live:   ✅ fully online, ✅ self-paced, ✅ free of charge via the World Health Organization Academy.   The course was jointly developed by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence in Berlin and the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean (EMRO).   1️⃣ Why is this training important? In an environment of increasing zoonotic spillovers, climate-sensitive disease patterns, large-scale population mobility, and rapidly evolving information ecosystems, public health authorities must generate timely, verified, and actionable intelligence under conditions of uncertainty.   To respond to public health emergencies effectively, the workforce needs strong competencies in Public Health Intelligence (PHI).   2️⃣ What is PHI? PHI is the systematic collection, verification, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of information about health threats. It integrates surveillance data, event-based monitoring, contextual analysis, and risk assessment to generate actionable insights for decision-makers.   Within this project, RKI led the development of the PHI Foundations Training: a practical, hands-on, in-person training programme designed to build foundational PHI competencies among public health professionals. The training was piloted in Djibouti, Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon, providing participants with applied skills to support PHI implementation in their respective institutions.   3️⃣ Who can take part? The course is open to all public health professionals globally, including: 💠 Epidemiologists and surveillance officers 💠Risk assessment and emergency response professionals 💠Analysts and data specialists 💠Public health decision-makers and advisors 💠Professionals transitioning into PHI roles   Whether you are building foundational skills or refreshing existing expertise, this course offers a practical and flexible entry point into this rapidly evolving field.   Start learning today (free of charge): 👉 https://lnkd.in/dyiK_6nW   Strengthening PHI means strengthening global health security.
