#GeothermalFacts | #Did_You_Know Mexico's Cerro Prieto is the world's second-largest geothermal power complex, and a new challenger is emerging. With an installed capacity of 820 MW, Cerro Prieto Geothermal Power Station has been producing electricity since 1973 using flash steam technology. Operated by Mexico's state-owned utility CFE International LLC, it remains one of the largest and longest-running geothermal developments globally. Meanwhile, Cape Station in Utah, USA, aims to become the world's third-largest geothermal project with a planned 500 MW capacity. Unlike conventional plants, it will use Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) to unlock energy from hot, dry rock, with its first 100 MW expected online in 2027. Will next-generation EGS projects redefine the global geothermal rankings? More Insights👉https://lnkd.in/du_8aeyP #GeothermalEnergy #Mexico #EGS #CleanEnergy #Alphaxioms #GeothermalIntelligence
