Standing up for refugee protection may not be popular – but its urgency has never diminished. ⚠️ Across the globe, international rules on refugee protection are challenged or ignored. Many national asylum systems struggle to be fair and efficient, and international support for poorer countries that host the majority of the world's refugees is dwindling. 🎤 At our recent High-level Dialogue on the Future of Refugee Protection, international experts delivered a clear warning about the crisis unfolding within the refugee protection system. Among them were: Ruven Menikdiwela from UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency Zohra Wandaa from the Refugee Advisory Board Germany (RAB Germany) Lisa Küchenhoff from the International Rescue Committee Deutschland Hannes Einsporn from our Migration Team.
