It seems that “democratic” socialism is the political rage, especially among young people who believe government can solve all their problems. The Catholic Church does not endorse unfettered capitalism or materialism. However, it certainly condemns atheistic communism which is hostile to religious belief and replaces God with all powerful government. “Many believe Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen was a prophet. In his talk titled "Quo Vadis America," the archbishop explains what true patriotism means and how America’s Founding Fathers defined the United States’ liberties. He also describes the chaos occurring in today's world. “Patriotism is a virtue that was allied to the old virtue of the Greeks and Latin called ‘Pietas.’ 'Pietas' meant love of God, love of neighbor, love of country. And when one goes out, all go out. “[When] we no longer have love of God, we no longer have love of country.” Soon-to-be Blessed Fulton Sheen then explains his investigation of “the problem of revolution.””
