Places @ Spaces + Faces Living Legends πŸŽ™πŸŽΆπŸŽΉπŸŽΈπŸŽ€πŸŽ΅πŸŽΌπŸŽ™ Spanning a career of 67 years, hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio(also grew up with Nikki Giovanni in the Lincoln Heights area) and inspired by Doo-Wop and Gospel Music, sons of a former vaudeville performing father, O'Kelly, Sr. and Sallye Isley, the Isley Bros. were led by younger brother Vernon on lead vocals. After Vernon's untimely demise, the brothers finally started back performing with leads by Ronald, hitting the charts with "Shout". With much successes throughout the years, they were apart of the performers who took their career in their own hands, starting their own label, T-Neck Records. Their music is known for it's sensual, thoughtful and love laced lyrics, as well as their funk jams as well. Ronald, O'Kelly and Rudy soon were followed into the business by younger brothers Ernie and Marvin and brother-in-law Chris Jasper. To this day, Ron and Ernie continue the musical legacy, known as the baby making music of the Isley Brothers. They were the first American group to employ a young ahead of his time performer known as Jimi Hendrix. With many hits(that've been sampled and re-done by others), we continue to dance to the tunes of the 1st Family of Funk. We Salute the Isley Bros. πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’₯
