Corn Belt Ports Part of the Illinois Waterway Ports Leadership team paid a visit to the “Channahon Pool” on the Illinois Waterway. We caught a glimpse of Illinois Marine Towing’s Boat, the Village of Channahon on the job. This area is projected to see the most maritime growth based on the recent ILDOT Illinois Marine Transportation System Plan. We appreciate the “waterway ports leadership” from Mayor Missey Moorman Schumacher (Illinois River Cities and Towns Initiative (IRCTI)), Katie Troccoli (Illinois Waterway Ports Commission), Mike Blaske (ILLINOIS RIVER CARRIERS ASSOCIATION), Rick Granados (Director of Navigation), Anshu Singh, Ph.D. (Director of Sustainability and Conservation), and Chris Smith, CPP, PMP (Director of Operations). The Illinois Waterway does have a great rural, regional partnership port. We appreciate the safe, professional, and informative “Corn Belt Cruise” provided by Captain Brian Bauser, the “Midwest Challenger,” and Illinois Marine Towing.
