From the Mustang to Maranello, Lee Iacocca’s Ferrari F40 represents a remarkable intersection of American automotive leadership and Italian engineering. Chassis 87345 was the 94th of 213 F40s specified for the US market. Completed in December 1990, it was purchased new by Iacocca through a rare direct factory sale, with his name recorded in the original warranty booklet and a commemorative plaque stating, “Built exclusively for Lee Iacocca.” Developed from Ferrari’s 288 GTO Evoluzione program, the F40 combined a twin-turbocharged V-8 with a steel tube-frame chassis and lightweight carbon fiber and Kevlar bodywork. Its uncompromising construction and 201-mph capability established a new benchmark for roadgoing performance and made it the defining final supercar developed under Enzo Ferrari. Displaying just 320 miles, this example pairs exceptional preservation with provenance from one of the most consequential figures in the US automotive industry. It has also recently received a $40,000 major service from Ferrari of Newport Beach. Offered without reserve with an estimate of $4,000,000 to $5,000,000 USD.
