RMIT Cares: It is not only the program - it is how we run the program. Today, we had the privilege of presenting the RMIT-AcSIR Joint Research Program to RMIT supervisors, with the session delivered by Distinguished Professor Suresh Bhargava. The RMIT-AcSIR Joint Research Program is a strong example of international research collaboration between RMIT University and India’s national research ecosystem through Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), CSIR India, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Department of Science & Technology, Government of India (DST). Its real strength, however, lies not just in its structure, but in how the program is delivered. At the heart of its success is care: care in supervision, communication, cultural understanding, and in supporting each student as a future global researcher, underpinned most importantly by TRUST and RESPECT. In a program that is deeply international and culturally sensitive, the role of supervisors is absolutely central. Supervisors are not only academic mentors; they are bridges between institutions, cultures and research ambitions. The outcomes speak for themselves: strong completion and satisfaction rates, near total employability, high quality publications, patents, and graduates now working at leading institutions around the world. This is what RMIT Cares means in action: creating impact through people, partnership and purposeful supervision. We appreciate all RMIT supervisors, AcSIR colleagues, CSIR, ICMR and DST partners, and the many students and alumni who continue to make this program a model of global research collaboration.
