Today at UWT's preview day, I had an opportunity to engage with two high school students keen on pursuing a math major, accompanied by their school counselor. It was a fantastic chance to extol the virtues of math for me. And during our discussion, the students highlighted their optimal learning environment in a math class: meaningful learning occurs when they can openly discuss concepts, ask questions, and exchange ideas. It resonates with the principles of an active-learning classroom! As always, the session wrapped up with an engaging game inspired by a math concept from Graph theory: Ramsey Theory, which the students thoroughly enjoyed. #Uwtacoma #math #students #graphtheory
