The market is full of stats that founders have to squint at to see clearly. $300 billion was poured into startups last quarter, but seed deals fell 30%, and the capital is concentrating into fewer, larger bets. Meanwhile, the anxieties keep stacking: Will Anthropic eat my startup? Is every opportunity already taken? Do I need to raise $100M at seed just to compete? We sat down with Sarah Guo, founder and partner at Conviction and one of the earliest investors in Harvey and Sierra, to set the record straight.
