Proud to conclude the journey of RHE-MEDiation project at the European Maritime Day 2026, where the project final event offered the opportunity to present key achievements, engage with stakeholders from across Europe, and discuss future perspectives for sustainable water treatment solutions. During the event, the GreenDune photobioreactor attracted strong interest thanks to the excellent results achieved across demonstration sites in Greece, Italy, and Turkey. The project achieved removal efficiencies above 50% for 163 pollutants, with efficiencies exceeding 80% for several emerging micropollutants and complete removal achieved for selected substances of concern. Particularly significant were the results obtained for PFOS, removed with a maximum efficiency of 97.7%. The solutions developed within the project were also replicated and tested at additional sites in Egypt, Morocco, Bulgaria, and Moldova, further demonstrating their scalability and transferability across diverse regional contexts. We successfully coordinated the project leading an international consortium committed to addressing emerging pollutants in water systems through innovative, nature-based, and scalable solutions. #GrowWithRINA
