New Jersey employers should be preparing now for major changes to employee leave rights taking effect July 17, 2026. Key changes include: - NJFLA coverage expands to employers with 15+ employees (down from 30) - Employee eligibility drops to just 3 months of employment and 250 hours worked - New questions arise regarding job protection for employees receiving FLI and TDI benefits These amendments will expand leave protections to more employees and create new compliance considerations for employers.
