š Which supermarkets have the best deals... for the farmers behind the food in your shopping basket? š£ Check out the results of #Superlist Social, a recurring human rights ranking report of supermarkets in Belgium and the Netherlands. š All supermarkets still have a lot of work to do; Lidl is clearly leading the way, and Colruyt, is catching up. š Supermarkets are more aware of abuses and there are hopeful initiatives, for example on living incomes for cocoa farmers and banana pickers. But in many high-risk chains, action is still pending. š The protection of women against the pay gap and violence in particular remains a blind spot - only Lidl has action plans in place for this. š "This report shows that there is still a long way to go for a fair offer in stores, but it also shows the path forward," says Liesbeth Van Meulder, expert in sustainable coffee and cocoa at Rikolto.Ā š£ļø "The successes in cocoa chains, for example, can provide inspiration to take steps now in other high-risk chains such as coffee." ā”ļø Dive into the results and read the analysis of our colleagues in Dutch at www.rikol.to/superlijst and in English at https://lnkd.in/ei_TkbZh ā”ļø The joint press release is available in Dutch at https://lnkd.in/efz6X4fu and in English at https://lnkd.in/eDrbMgiH ā”ļø Full results, the report, and methodology are also available here: https://lnkd.in/eHYgw_jU š¤ Superlist Social is an initiative of Questionmark Foundation in collaboration with Rikolto, Oxfam Novib, and Solidaridad Network, with the support of Oxfam Belgium and Fairtrade Belgium. #HumanRights #FairTrade #SupplyChain #FoodSystems #Superlijst
