ποΈ New episode of Flowcast, our art & science podcast, is out! I met Paco Maddalena via Ambient Italia, a community he founded and is tirelessly animating, together with the organisation of events and festivals across the country. On top of that he is active as an ambient and experimental music producer and filmmaker. Unfortunately he's not revealing how he manages to do all that, but we'll get to listen to his track. Paco worked on Segment 19 of the River Lech, where I took the field recording of a fish passage, a channel carved into concrete under a road, built not to restore the river but to simulate it. The water moves peacefully. The echo reveals the walls around it. His composition is not about restoration, itβs about endurance. Even when constrained, redirected, and engineered for hydropower production, water carries an intrinsic momentum. An infinite self-propulsion. His composition is called Echo Under Concrete (Moto Vincolato).Β π π§ Listen and read on Substack: https://lnkd.in/dW-SXHiB π§ Listen on all platforms: https://lnkd.in/dcmXgp3s #SoundArt #FieldRecording #ArtAndScience #AcousticEcology
