The best conversations about digitalisation happen next to real machines. 🤖 And yesterday, that’s exactly where we had them - at the #RICAIP #Testbed Prague. 🦾 We had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation of the European Commission, led by DG Celine Gauer, and representatives of the Ministerstvo průmyslu a obchodu České republiky directly into our testbed, where research and industry meet in everyday practice. The visit was opened by Michal Pechoucek, Rector of CTU (České vysoké učení technické v Praze), followed by Ondrej Velek, Director of CIIRC CTU, and Prof. Ing. Vladimír Mařík, Scientific Director of CIIRC CTU, who introduced the mission of Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics and how RICAIP fits into its innovation ecosystem, connecting scientific results with real industrial needs. 🌍 To show what this means for companies, we presented two concrete examples. Tomáš Jochman introduced a PEGAS - GONDA | Pásové pily na kov solution, provided by EDIH CTU, for digital monitoring and predictive maintenance of band saws, validated in real production. 🛠️ Ondrej Beranek (AI MATTERS EU) followed with the SMAUT Technology s.r.o. case, demonstrating AI for mobile robotic systems, including sensor fusion, mapping and autonomous navigation, even in environments without GPS. 🧭 What connects all of this is a simple idea - companies can test new technologies in realistic industrial conditions before making investment decisions.💡 Most of the visit then took place exactly where RICAIP belongs, inside the testbed itself. The delegation toured both floors, guided by Tomáš Jochman, Martin Mikšík, Jiří Štefan and Václav Voltr on the ground floor, and by Michal Rytíř and Martin Novák in the laboratories developed in collaboration with RCMT FME CTU in Prague (Fakulta strojní ČVUT v Praze), with discussions happening next to live demonstrations rather than presentation slides. 👣 This is what RICAIP does - bringing European ambition down to the factory floor and turning it into working industrial solutions. 🚀 Many thanks to everyone who helped make this visit possible. 🙌
