Combining Vitamin D₃ and Plant Bioactives to Support Broiler Health I'm pleased to share our research published in Veterinary Medicine and Science, investigating the combined effects of cholecalciferol (Vitamin D₃) and Satureja rechingeri essential oil on growth performance and immune function in broiler chickens. As the poultry industry seeks sustainable alternatives to support health and productivity, nutritional strategies that combine vitamins with plant-derived bioactive compounds are attracting increasing attention. Key findings ✔️ The combination of Vitamin D₃ and Satureja rechingeri essential oil improved growth performance. ✔️ Birds receiving the optimized combination showed enhanced immune responses, including higher serum IgM, lysozyme activity, and phagocytic capacity. ✔️ These findings suggest a synergistic interaction between vitamin nutrition and phytogenic compounds in supporting immune competence and overall physiological performance. This study contributes to the growing evidence that combining functional feed additives with targeted nutritional strategies may enhance poultry resilience while reducing reliance on conventional health-support approaches. Discussion I'd be interested to hear from researchers and poultry nutrition professionals: • Have you observed synergistic effects when combining vitamins with phytogenic feed additives? • Which plant bioactive compounds have shown the greatest potential for improving immune function under commercial production conditions? I look forward to hearing your scientific perspectives and practical experiences. #PoultryNutrition #AnimalNutrition #FunctionalFeed #Phytogenics #EssentialOils #VitaminD #Broiler #ImmuneHealth #FeedScience #PrecisionNutrition #SustainablePoultry #VeterinaryMedicine
