Every experienced provider was once the rookie. The nervous EMT. The new paramedic. The clinician with imposter syndrome. Over the past two decades in healthcare, I’ve learned that confidence is not something we hand people. It’s something we help them build. One patient at a time. One shift at a time. One lesson at a time. As leaders, educators, field training officers, and mentors, we have a responsibility to invest in the next generation of providers. The future of EMS depends on it. The best providers aren’t perfect. They keep showing up. They keep learning. They keep growing. That belief is one of the reasons I wrote The 911 Ready Protocol. Not simply to share knowledge, but to contribute to a culture of continual growth, professional excellence, and lifelong learning in EMS. To those new to the field please note- Organizations such as National EMS Management Association (NEMSMA) , National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) and National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians continue to play an important role in advancing education, professional development, and excellence throughout EMS. To the fellow leaders- Please share how are you helping today’s rookies become tomorrow’s leaders? #ems #paramedic #EMSeducation #emt
