Most remote team-building fails for the same reason: it asks everyone to be on a screen at the same time. We're a fully remote team across 11 countries, so in June we tried something different. A 15-day steps challenge with three ways to earn a point each day: hit 8,000 steps, get outside, do an act of kindness. Nothing to schedule. No calls. It ran in the background of real life, and that turned out to be the whole point. Tracked in Dopa The results: → 2,992,243 total steps, roughly Vancouver to Calgary → 94% daily check-in rate → 229 acts of kindness in 15 days And the team that walked the most didn't win. The scoring rewarded consistency over raw output, which is what made it work for everyone, not just the fitness crowd.
