🌍 💉 It’s World Immunisation Week! When a measles case was confirmed at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, the response was immediate. Yet beyond the outbreak itself lies a bigger issue: the growing influence of vaccine misinformation and declining public trust in science. Anti-vaccine narratives are no longer confined to the margins. They are shaping public debate, influencing political decisions, and even affecting global health funding. When misinformation gains this level of traction, it doesn’t just impact individual choices, but weakens the systems designed to keep communities safe. Vaccines have saved millions of lives, from smallpox eradication to protecting communities through herd immunity. But growing scepticism, fuelled by politics and misinformation, is putting that progress at risk. 📝 In her blog, written during her time as an intern for Results UK, Amelia Jones explores how vaccine scepticism has entered mainstream politics in the United States, shaping public health decisions and even global funding commitments.
