🧪 Can replacing just one ingredient make a product safer without compromising its quality? As the case of LLC VKF “MBA” demonstrates, it can. 🌱 Together with the RCPC Centre, the company tested a bio-based alternative to a conventional acrylic emulsion and identified a solution that combines high product quality, improved safety, and a lower environmental impact. 💧 This case shows that the principles of green chemistry are not just theoretical—they can deliver tangible results in real-world manufacturing. “The use of an environmentally safer dispersion in paint formulations has become a new guiding principle in product development. It means that preservatives, thickeners, and other functional additives must also meet higher safety standards. Even the paint packaging is designed to be made from recycled plastic. This project introduces a new concept of environmental safety to the coatings industry.” — Володимир Піпа, Генеральний директор, к.т.н., Професор Chief Executive Officer, LLC VKF “MBA” 👉 Swipe through the carousel to discover the results. ♻️ This case was implemented under Component 3, “Green Chemistry Alternatives to POPs, Mercury, and Microplastics for Scaling and Replication,” of The Global GreenChem Innovation & Network Program (GGINP). The project is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in partnership with the Yale Center for Green Chemistry and Green Engineering. The national implementing partner in Ukraine is the Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre (RCPC Centre). Globalgreenchem
