🚧 Six more months in one minute: the Cerisea Project keeps taking shape. Since our last update in December 2025, construction of our #5HMF demonstration unit has continued at an impressive pace on the GIE OSIRIS ROUSSILLON platform. Over the past six months, several key milestones have been achieved: ✔️ Installation of the steel structure ✔️ Setup of major process equipment ✔️ Installation of process columns ✔️ Deployment of piping networks ✔️ Installation of cable trays and electrical infrastructure The project remains on track, and the final phases of construction are now underway, with completion expected by the end of 2026. Once operational, the unit will become Europe's first facility dedicated to the production of bio-based 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF), with a target capacity of 3,000 tons per year. Produced from plant-based sugars, 5-HMF is a key building block for the high-performance, formaldehyde-free thermoset resins developed by MICHELIN ResiCare. It opens the door to safer and more sustainable materials for demanding applications such as #aerospace, #transportation, #construction, #furniture, #electronics, and advanced #composites.
