🌟 Back from EFMI MIE 2026 in beautiful Genova! We had the privilege of presenting three publications at one of the most visible conferences in the medical informatics and digital health space (EFMI-European Federation for Medical Informatics). These works represent months of collaborative efforts focused on enhancing patient-centered care and advancing digital health innovation.: **Towards Blended Obesity Care: An LLM-based Nutrition Coach on FHIR (Rebecca Scheel, Thure Weimann, Hannes Schlieter): Introducing an LLM-based Nutrition Coach on FHIR, which combines conversational AI with FHIR clinical interoperability to support personalized dietary coaching. ❗️Key takeaway: This approach demonstrates the feasibility of patient-centered nutrition support within blended-care models. ***Reimagining Patient-Centered Pathways: Enhancing Pathway Development Methods with Patient-Centered Design Principles (Emily Hickmann, Maren Kählig, Nick Heidmann, Peggy Richter, Hannes Schlieter) Presenting design principles for embedding patient-centeredness into pathway development, with a focus on empowerment, engagement, holistic care, caregiver support, and care coordination. ❗️Key takeaway: These 5 meta-requirements offer actionable guidance for integrating patient perspectives into digital health solutions. **From Guidelines to Practice: Regionalising Oncological Patient Pathways (Carola Martin,Johanna Kirchberger,Hannes Schlieter) Demonstrating how guideline-based, regional oncological pathways can bridge gaps in care delivery, particularly in rural areas, through intersectoral collaboration and patient pathways. ❗️Key takeaway: Formalized and implemented pathways improve care coordination and enable longitudinal monitoring of patient journeys. These works collectively emphasize the need for #patient-centeredness, #regionalAdaptation, and #digitalInnovation in healthcare delivery and provide practical frameworks for improving care. A big thank you to the EFMI MIE community for fostering such a meaningful exchange and great discussions around our contribution. Wirtschaftsinformatik | TU Dresden
