It’s 30 minutes before a match, and your combat robot catches fire. What would you do? That’s the scenario Renesas engineer George Tan and Team Valkyrie faced at a BattleBots Pro League competition. With the clock ticking, the team quickly diagnosed the issue, salvaged working components, and rebuilt the entire 250-pound robot from scratch. Not only was their robot able to compete in the match, but Team Valkyrie won the match and ultimately went on to win their entire bracket.
