Most companies think they're "using AI" for coding. McKinsey just mapped out the 4 levels of AI in software development and most companies are stuck on Level 2. Level 2 is basically autocomplete on steroids: you write a few lines, AI suggests the next ten, like having a fast pair programmer next to you. McKinsey & Company But here's where it gets interesting π At Level 3, a developer just describes the feature in plain English and AI generates the first version of the code, the tests, AND the documentation automatically. McKinsey & Company At Level 4, a small team supervises a coordinated system of AI agents that delivers a full application end-to-end design, code, testing, integration with humans only stepping in for the calls that actually need human judgment. McKinsey & Company The result? McKinsey says this adds up to roughly 20x leverage, a handful of people doing what used to take an entire department. McKinsey & Company This isn't sci-fi. This is the exact gap between agencies still billing hourly for boilerplate code, and teams who've rebuilt their process around AI from day one. It's also exactly why we built RemoteDev the way we did. 10x faster, 5x cheaper isn't a slogan, it's what happens when your dev team isn't stuck on Level 2. π¬ Question for founders: if your dev team could ship 20x faster, what would you build first? π Source: McKinsey "The AI revolution in software development" https://lnkd.in/dftti-ZY #AI #SoftwareDevelopment #MVP #StartupTips #TechNews #FutureOfWork #UKStartups
