In the #REMEDIES Demo Site in Koper Slovenia, we aim to treat wastewater coming from marina vessel washing, capturing dangerous sea pollutants and ensuring they are disposed of using proper waste management techniques. The #REMEDIESforOcean technologies at Marina Izola include among others an underwater drone monitoring for marine litter, used to map the seafloor and identify large plastic items, supporting systematic monitoring efforts. Alongside this, a microplastic filtration system showcases how wastewater generated from boat maintenance activities can be treated to prevent microplastics from entering the marine environment.
