June is World Oceans Month, a time to celebrate the oceans that sustain life on our planet and to recognise the urgent need to protect them. As we mark the 15th anniversary of the RELX Environmental Challenge, we're proud to introduce a new Ocean Category for 2026. Building on the Challenge's longstanding focus on water and sanitation, the new category recognises that healthy oceans and healthy water systems are deeply interconnected Applications for the RELX Environmental Challenge 2026 are open until 12 July 2026, with two awards of US$75,000 available: one for innovations in Clean Water and Sanitation, and one dedicated to Ocean innovation.
