Yesterday was #InternationalYouthDay and I celebrate all the young people who are part of the Soronko Network and Family and youth all over the world. We have trained over 20,000 and still going strong. On Friday we will add about 30 more young children who have learnt to code and create technology in our summer coding class edition 1. I want to highlight two amazing young women who made it happen. We have Phillipa Bennett-Eghan and Kearl Tetteh. Philippa teaches the Python Class and Kearl teaches HTML, CSS, and Blogging. Phillipa has her own startup where she teaches children technology online. She is studying Computer Science in University. She has studied machine learning, data science, full-stack web development, and is a Pythonista. Kearl is a goal-driven and focused individual who is open to new things. Kearl studied web development, WordPress developments digital marketing etc. She is studying Social Science at the University of Ghana Kearl and Phillipa are both Soronko Academy Alumni from Mastercard Foundation Young Africa Works Program and they have done an amazing job transferring knowledge and teaching children how to code. The children graduate today and we can't wait to see their final projects. You can sign up your children (6-17years both boys and girls) for our second coding class here https://lnkd.in/g8pkCj9 starting on the 16th of August. Phillipa and Kearl are both excited to train another group of young coders. #soronkoacademy #codingforchildren #pythonforkids
