Last month, the heavy clay industry met at the Clay Brick Association’s AGM in South Africa to look at sustainable production and energy-efficient design. For brick manufacturers, this work is directly linked to the design of kilns and tunnel kiln cars. Jörn Böke and Andreas Schröder presented sustainable kiln car systems designed to contribute to durability and energy efficiency. These systems support resource conservation and carbon footprint reduction. At the 2026 conference, Andreas Schröder was introduced in view of his upcoming responsibility for the South African market.
