Who am I without my people? I am still overwhelmed by my weekend at Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale where I presented the workshop “Archives In/For The Future” and was part of the panel “Whose Memory Matters?” Alongside Dalia Aldujaili and George H.. The auditorium was filled with the warmest, most engaging people I have met. More than 20 people of the audience were Sudanese! To everyone who showed up whether because they know me or know of The Muse multi studios and Sudan Art Archive or merely because they’re looking for a piece of home, your presence mattered, to me, to The Muse, to the team, to Sudan, all of it. This is exactly why we do what we do. This is exactly why I was up there speaking. I was, and still am, out of words to what that presence has brought to me. Hundreds of miles away from home and we can still show up for each other. That I have seen nowhere else. We are all still seeking home, but we are carrying home within us. This generosity is home. This is not about me, I wouldn’t have been here without the work of everyone supporting our vision and most importantly my team, my people! Marwan M. Hamza , حسان الناصر , Ghassan Mohieldin , Mawadda Tarig beyond blessed to be working with you all🙏🏽❤️ thank you Mashael Alsaie and Maryam almahdi for the invitation 🫶🏽 I hope we can continue to carry home in all we do ❤️ الحمد لله حمداً كثيراً طيباً مباركاً فيه 🙏🏽
