Reed Smith recently advised Uniper Global Commodities SE on a landmark long-term green ammonia offtake agreement with AM Green Ammonia. Under the agreement, Uniper will offtake up to 500,000 tonnes per year of RFNBO-certified green ammonia from AM Green Ammonia’s projects in India, with first shipments expected as early as 2028. This transaction is the first long-term agreement for the supply of green ammonia from India to Europe and represents a significant milestone in the development of international renewable hydrogen and ammonia supply chains, supporting the decarbonisation of the European energy market.
