At the 2026 Red Bull Basement World Final in San Francisco, USC graduate Darnell Adler was named the global winner for Lifeline AI, a personal safety app designed to send silent emergency alerts without visibly unlocking a phone, calling a number or speaking. The win came after a competition that attracted more than 138,000 applicants across 40+ countries, with founders using AI-powered tools and "vibe coding" to turn ideas into working MVPs.
