"Why workforce planning matters - not just hands on deck". - Nicky Keaveny, Workforce Manager, Red Bear Tech Nicky says: "The project we just wrapped up in Hamburg is a perfect example of why getting your workforce planning right actually matters. I was on the initial client call to unpack the scope and figure out what they actually needed before making any decisions. From there, my focus was simple: put together a team that could get the job done properly and on time, rather than just throwing warm bodies at the problem. I handpicked six operatives I knew would be a perfect fit for the job, sourcing the right equipment to give them the best chance of success. That’s where having genuine, strong relationships with our labour suppliers pays off; It’s not about numbers, it’s about consistently putting the right people in the right roles. With the green light from our leadership team, we got to work. The project went smoothly, and the feedback out of Hamburg has been brilliant also opening the door to further opportunities with this client. Look, I’m the first to admit I won't get every single call right. But when you have real trust with your suppliers, you can pivot fast, fix issues on the fly, and keep things moving. For me, that’s exactly what this job is: bridging the gap between what the client expects and what actually happens on-site, and making sure we never try to force a square peg into a round hole".
