200 million hours. That is the collective time women and girls spend every single day simply fetching water. This #WorldWaterDay, we are highlighting why the global water crisis is a fundamental barrier to gender equity. When one in four people lack a reliable supply of water at home, the physical and economic burden falls disproportionately on women and girls. It is time lost that could be spent in a classroom or earning money for their family. At Reckitt, we improve access through innovative financing and impact investing with our partners @Water.org and @WaterEquity. By leveraging micro-loans, we enable families to secure their own infrastructure. As these loans are repaid, the capital is recycled to help the next household, creating a self-sustaining engine for change. Access to clean water is a human right, but it requires systemic action to make it a reality.
