The Vatican just weighed in on the future of coaching. 🦾 Not intentionally. But Pope Leo XIV's new encyclical on AI and human dignity answers, with more clarity than most of our professional bodies have managed the last years. THE GRANDEUR OF HUMANITY IN LIGHT OF THE PROMISES OF AI. I spent a whole evening reading and annotating Magnifica Humanitas. And I want to share what I found in Chapter 3 around Technology and Dominance that relates to our profession. And yes some of it is uncomfortable and comes with the package, and I think we need to sit with it. The Pope asks: what are we building? And he he offers two images. 🗼The Tower of Babel, built upward for power and self-preservation, 🏛️ and the ruins of Jerusalem, rebuilt stone by stone as an act of love for the people who will inhabit it. I'll be honest with you. When I hold that question up against our profession right now I am not sure we are building Jerusalem. Let me know what you think after reading the encyclical and maybe this article. This is the moment to be loud about what we think and what we know. Anna A.
