I'm honored to share that we kicked off the David Sakurai Memorial Scholarship Fund yesterday afternoon. The kickoff event was attended by David Sakurai's family, friends, colleagues, and community leaders. The David Sakurai Memorial Scholarship Fund seeks to provide 10 years of funding for OUSD graduates pursuing careers in the skilled trades. The Fund will enable High School Linked Learning and OUSD to support up to three David Sakurai Scholars annually, providing support ranging from boots, tools, and uniforms to stipends and case management. Thanks to early donations, we have raised over $25,000, bringing us closer to our $100,000 goal.
