We’re officially into the second half of 2026, so we looked back at every LinkedIn poll we ran in the first half of the year. The questions covered flexibility, salary transparency, stress, career progression, upskilling, interview feedback, office attendance and more. On their own, each poll told us something useful but viewed together, they told us something much more interesting: People want more control, not complete freedom. More control over how they work, how they develop, how much of their own time work consumes, and how much information they have before making career decisions. Across the polls, a few results stood out: ↳ 56% chose more flexibility when asked which perk would be most likely to keep them in a role. ↳ 82% assumed a role without a salary range was below market. ↳ 79% expected interview feedback within five working days. ↳ 62% chose clear promotion paths when asked how they would prefer to advance their career. ↳ 59% said work stress had increased significantly this year. The comments under the polls added even more context. People spoke about commuting as unpaid time, wanting salary information earlier, needing clearer progression, and wanting to be trusted to do the job they were hired to do. If you hire someone for their skills, judgement and experience, there is value in trusting that decision. We’ve pulled the findings together in our mid-year poll report. #Hiring #Recruitment #TechJobs #Workplace #Talent
