The boundaries between products and services have grown increasingly blurred in a connected world where most offerings rely on software, infrastructure, and ongoing support. What we once called “products” are now better understood as product–service systems — evolving relationships between people, organizations, and technologies that prioritize experience and adaptation over ownership. This shift calls for a systemic, ecological view of design, where the real question becomes not what we create, but what kind of system we sustain — for whom, and toward which outcomes.
