A stronger industrial base starts with continued investment. Today, Raytheon broke ground on a $100 million expansion of its Portsmouth, Rhode Island facility reinforcing our commitment to strengthening U.S. manufacturing, growing capacity and delivering critical capabilities at speed. The expansion will add a new LTAMDS test range and increase Patriot GEM-T subcomponent production capacity, helping accelerate testing for the US Army, reduce transportation costs and support growing demand from U.S. and international customers. This investment will also create 150 highly skilled jobs and further strengthen Rhode Island's role in advancing next-generation defense technologies. For more than six decades, Raytheon has been part of the state's manufacturing and innovation ecosystem, supporting critical radar, combat system and undersea technology programs. As demand for advanced air and missile defense capabilities continues to grow, investments like this help ensure the capacity, workforce and infrastructure are in place to deliver for customers around the world.
