Really excited to share this work I led during my postdoctoral fellowship with Joel M. Gelfand’s group. Using genetic approaches, we show that higher GLP1R expression is associated with a lower risk of both psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, with no similar effect seen across other inflammatory conditions. These findings provide human genetic support for GLP-1 signalling as a biologically relevant pathway in psoriatic disease, and help strengthen the rationale for exploring GLP-1–based therapies beyond metabolic disease.
