Delivering safe, reliable service while helping Arlington welcome the world. Across eight World Cup match days in Arlington, the RATP Dev USA Arlington Trolley team transported approximately 10,000 passengers while navigating extreme heat, significant traffic congestion, changing road conditions and concentrated post-match demand. Each match-day operation began four hours before kickoff with six trolleys supporting passenger arrivals. As fans exited the venue, the team adjusted service in real time and deployed seven to eight trolleys, including the operation’s full reserve capacity, to accommodate demand. The busiest match days demonstrated the scale of the operation: 1,327 passengers transported on July 3 1,562 passengers transported on July 6 A maximum passenger wait of only 38 minutes during the busiest post-match period These passenger volumes significantly exceeded the operation’s original estimates and were approximately three times higher than a typical service day. Success required constant coordination among operators, supervisors, dispatch, maintenance personnel, hotel partners and event staff. The team adjusted routes and staging locations when conditions changed, managed post-match passenger surges and safely navigated an environment that included heavy pedestrian activity, road restrictions and temperatures exceeding 100 degrees. A color-coded trolley pass system helped hotel guests identify the correct route and return transportation. Combined with hotel communication, dispatch support and assistance for Spanish-speaking passengers, the system helped reduce confusion and keep visitors moving efficiently. And while guests may have come to Arlington for the matches, we hope they also left with a taste of the hospitality Texas is known for. Behind every number was a team committed to safety and customer service. Employees worked long hours, remained flexible and made thoughtful real-time decisions throughout each match day. In one instance, a supervisor personally located a passenger who was unable to find the trolley stop and safely escorted her back to the pickup area.
