#Graphicdesign helps to shape legacy and how we associate historical movements. Striking a timeless culmination of strong, simple visuals and authentic, expansive meaning can be an arduous task for any design assignment, but all the more critical when the purpose is to commemorate a complex journey of inexplicable pain and hard-fought celebration. In collaboration with others, "Boston Ben" Haith, activist and founder of National Juneteenth Celebration Foundation, originally drafted the first design of the #Juneteenth flag in 1997. It was later refined by illustrator Lisa Jeanne Graf.
