Due to mid-life crisis, I am contemplating doing a masters degree at UM, either in Masters of Law or Masters of Criminal Justice. Should I do a masters? Am I going to become smarter and able to argue my cases better? And for an LLB holder, will it still be suitable to study a Masters in Criminal Justice? Some of the modules like Criminal Law and Evidence -- are they higher level than what we would learn in LLB and CLP? Appreciate any thoughts on this. I am aware many of our country's top advocates did not actually do an LLM and they perform to an impressive standard in Court. But I am wondering if better research skills from a masters degree will benefit me in the long run.
