I was recently invited to share some visions on how to best use high-sensitivity cardiac troponin in the field of primary prevention. If we truly want to combat the high societal burden of cardiovascular disease, we must reliably detect and monitor early, subclinical organ changes — long before the disease manifests clinically. Circulating biomarkers such as troponins may play a crucial role by: 🧬 Offering insights into silent myocardial injury 🔍 Helping us identify individuals at risk earlier and more reliably 🌍 Opening new avenues for preventive strategies that could change the trajectory of cardiovascular health The vision is clear: detect earlier, intervene smarter, and prevent more effectively. I look forward to continuing this dialogue with colleagues across research, clinical practice, and public health. Together, we can shape a future where cardiovascular disease is not just treated, but more proactively prevented. 🚀
