HighTech Agenda for Germany! And how should/could a national IP strategy look like??? A room full of experts met at the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung to discuss how to improve IP transfer from science to startups. Two panels focussed on how to use the HighTech Agenda and which incentives universities should use and get. Interessting discussions with Andreas Zaby, Heiko Willems, Carolin Häussler, Christoph J. Stresing, Julia Dunker, Marianne Kulicke, Lisa Wetzig, Thomas Gazlig, and Gisela Philipsenburg. The main topics: ⁉️ Standards for Deal terms versus individual solutions for the founders... We need standard corridors, but also room for discussions. Certainly we do not need a standard of 5-15% of virtual shares without further licence agreement! 🔬 We all agree that the number of invention disclosures is too low compared with the number of publications (10000+ vs. 200 to 300). 🧑🔬 We need a mindset change. And real incentives for scientists! 💸 And maybe also a little pressure with impact as a evaluation dimension In the end we need to speed up and leave the minimal consensus behind. Maybe the startup factories will help to go this way. We need to make sure that the establish their position in our university-startup ecosystem. What makes me positive is the number of people who travel to Berlin for a three hour meeting to activly shape the future of Startup Germany, like Lena Oesterlin-Meret, Barbara Diehl, Johanna Schwan, Jörn Krupa, Dorothea Ringe, Dr. Joachim Eichhorn, Oliver Hunke, Laura Möller, Johannes Geibel, Elke Achhammer, Andreas Barthel, and Dr. Jennifer Kaiser-Steiner. We also had the chance to discuss many interesting ideas how to move forward, like common infrastructure for more efficency, how to use calls to foster existing programs or new interactions and cooperations... Stay tuned! Looking forward to further discussions with exist - from science to business, TransferAllianz e.V. and ScienceValue Heidelberg GmbH... #heiinnovation #IP #HTAD #startup #innovation
