Today, RANZCOG hosted 'The Cost of Birth Trauma', a roundtable discussion at Djeembana, College Place in Melbourne. Supported by Birth Trauma Australia the Roundtable brought together clinicians, women with lived experience, policymakers, and sector leaders to examine the causes, impacts, and system responses to birth-related trauma in Australia. Birth-related trauma impacts both consumers and healthcare providers. Recognising it as a system-level issue, and fostering genuine collaboration across the sector, is crucial in achieving meaningful and lasting change. RANZCOG extends its sincere gratitude to all speakers and attendees, particularly the consumer representatives who generously shared their lived experience and insights. Key findings and recommendations from the discussion will be shared in a report in the coming weeks.
