Uniper, AM Green Group sign long-term offtake deal for up to 500,000 tpy of #renewable #ammonia from India. Uniper Global Commodities SE and AM Green Ammonia India Private Limited have signed a long-term, binding offtake agreement covering the supply of up to 500,000 tonnes per year of renewable ammonia certified as a Renewable Fuel of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO). The agreement was exchanged in Ahmedabad in the presence of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and was signed by Uniper CEO Michael Lewis and AM Green Founder and Group Chairman Anil Kumar Chalamalasetty. Key terms and timeline Under the agreement, Uniper will offtake renewable ammonia from AM Green’s projects in India, with first shipments expected as early as 2028. Supply is planned to commence from AM Green’s first 1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) plant currently under construction in Kakinada. The contract marks one of the first long-term, large-scale RFNBO-certified green ammonia offtake agreements involving an Indian producer, aligning with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission and Europe’s growing demand for certified renewable molecules.
