Finding stillness in a volatile world is a quiet form of rebellion. Recently, I've been meditating on a core teaching from the Bhagavad Gita: Nishkama Karma—the practice of fulfilling our duties with complete integrity, yet without attachment to the final outcome. This is a powerful concept, especially when applied to modern leadership or the high-stakes world of technology. Whether my team is untangling complex data systems, architecting a cloud migration, or, as for me today, simply out in the garden tending to the new pak choi and asparagus spears, the lesson remains the same: We prepare the ground, sow the seeds, and commit ourselves to the honest work of creation and maintenance. But then, we must let go of anxiety over the exact harvest. This steady, unshakable wisdom is known as Sthitaprajna. It is the quiet anchor we all need when navigating dynamic environments. True peace isn’t found in trying to control the uncontrollable results, but in the integrity and presence we bring to the work itself. I find that this perspective reduces burnout and boosts performance. When you focus entirely on the quality of your output right now, the outcomes tend to take care of themselves. How are you practicing detachment and finding your quiet anchor this week? #BhagavadGita #NishkamaKarma #Sthitaprajna #Leadership #MindfulnessAtWork #DataSystems #FindingStillness #IntegrityInWork #PersonalGrowth #EasternPhilosophy #MentalHealth #LettingGo
