Headline: ๐Ÿš€ Simplifying FDM Simulation: A New Finite Element Approach Iโ€™m excited to share my latest research paper, now published in the Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering. The Problem: Simulating FDM parts is notoriously difficult. Current methods often rely on time-consuming anisotropic models or require extensive experimental data. The Solution: We developed a semi-discrete beam-element model that requires only the filamentโ€™s physical properties. This approach successfully predicts compressive failure loads with a maximum error of just 7% . Why this matters: This method offers a more accessible way for engineers to predict part behavior without the heavy computational cost of traditional solid models. ๐Ÿ”— Read the full paper: https://lnkd.in/dxYw445R Thank you to my co-authors, Dr. Navid Yousefi and Professor Mohammad Sedighi, for all your valuable efforts and contributions. #AdditiveManufacturing #FDM #FiniteElementAnalysis #MechanicalEngineering #Research
