Over a century of intensive industrial activity has taken a heavy toll on Lake Michigan 🚢🏭 Undoing that kind of pollution without disrupting the surrounding waters is, to say the least, complex. Safely removing and containing decades of contaminated sediment meant designing a solution that works with the natural movement of the water itself 🌊 Through innovative design using a protective cutoff wall and an advanced water management system, Ramboll co-created a secure, long-term containment facility alongside the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) and local stakeholders.
